Archimandrite Wadih (Shalhoub) was born in Dumas of Batroun in Lebanon. He studied under His Beatitude Ignatius IV at the School of Our Lady of Balamand, then went to Greece to complete his education and specialization in Byzantine music. After he returned from Greec, he was assigned in the monastery of Our Lady of Balamand as a teacher of Byzantine music in Arabic at the Institute of St. John of Damascus. Fr. Waduh was ordained to the Holy diaconate in 1975 in the parish of Tripoli and Koura, then as a priest in 1984 by Metropolitan Elias (Kurban). In 1987 he joined the diocese of Jbeil, Batroun and Surroundings (Mount Lebanon) and he was elevated by Metropolitan George (Khodr) to the rank of Archimandrite. Archimandrite Wadih (Shalhoub) served in the parishes of Dumas, until he was appointed by , and servant of the parish of always, where he stayed until summoned by His Beatitude Ignatius IV as the abbot of the Patriarchal Monastery of Mar Elias, Shuya. Archimandrite Wadih (Shalhoub) has many publications in the byzantine music field and many recordings in his voice.
