Byzantine Choir of Chania was established in Chania in 1995 by the the initiative of maestro John Kastrinaki. By establishing The Choir, John Kastrinaki intended to mainten improve and promot the Byzantine art and traditional music. The choir produced many studies, researchs and presentations focusing on the traditional Byzantine art and its relation to the Byzantine Chant.
